Self-Esteem coach for girls

I help girls feel sturdy on their own two feet.

Did you know?

Self-esteem and confidence are not the same thing.

Self-esteem is rooted in the Latin word (yes, I took Latin!) aestimare, which means "to value" or "to appraise". It refers to your core identity and sense of value and is derived from early life experiences, relationships, and subsequent internal beliefs. It is deeply engrained, stable, and independent of performance - meaning you do not need to win or succeed at a task to feel good about your worth as a person.

Confidence is rooted in the Latin word confidere, which means "to trust". Confidence refers to your trust in doing certain tasks or handling specific challenges. It is situational, less stable (tends to fluctuate) and is built over time through a blend of action, repetition, and evidence. It grows when you practice skills, achieve goals, and learn from obstacles and failures.

When girls know deep down that their value is unshakeable, that they are worthy and whole and deserving of respect no matter what they do or achieve, they are more likely to take risks, learn from mistakes, set + go after goals, and lift others up along the way.

ALI CULLIFORD

Hi, I’m Ali

struggled with body image issues and disordered eating for almost 20 years.

As a teen, I defined myself by the size of my body.  I eventually developed osteopenia, experienced stress fractures, and temporarily lost my period.  I stopped feeling hunger and stopped feeling strong emotions.  I was numb.

What did I really want?

How can I help you?

Client Feedback

I signed up for Connect, Ali’s group parenting program.  I am so glad that I did.  It came at such a good time.  I learned strategies that are actually doable and so many of them have already made such an impact for me, my kids, and my husband.  The energy of my house just feels so much better.  I am so grateful.

My daughter (8) took a class with Ali and I cannot say enough good things about it! I encourage an environment of food and body positivity in my home but listening to the conversation my daughter got to have with Ali gave me so many extra tools to continue to foster that environment at home. My daughter has asked multiple times since the class “when do I get to talk with Ms. Ali again?” We are BOTH looking forward to another session!

Ali did a wonderful job working with both my 13 year old as well as my 10 year old regarding self image and loving their bodies. She has a calm and nurturing presence that made the girls feel comfortable while keeping the session lighthearted and fun! Thank you Ali for such a great workshop!

I am so glad I worked with Ali.  I was in eating disorder recovery when we met and I was having trouble dealing with things that would come up at home - like getting dressed for the day.  Ali helped me learn strategies to get me through those hard moments at home.  I feel like I am so much stronger now.

My daughter loved her sessions with Ali.  She put them on our family calendar with lots of exclamation marks which is telling!  Ali has a gentle way about her that my daughter really responds to.  I loved learning about her mini homework assignments that were small but really personally meaningful for my daughter.  My girl stands taller now, and has made a solid group of friends in middle school which is HUGE!
